I really don't think there...I don't know, honestly. I really don't think there will be an October Surprise -- considering there isn't really enough time for one to effect opinion polls, and early voting has begun in the states that McCain would need to change.

I also don't think that it's all that surprising that Powell is supporting Obama -- and not, as asserted by the Drug-Addled Gasbag, because they're both black. The reason it's not surprising is because Colin Powell knows that Obama's policies on the war, the military, and veterans are better by a yardarm than John McCain's. The active duty military knows it too, as is evidenced by their giving money to Obama over McCain in a 6:1 ratio.

I'm just glad Powell came out and said something. He's helping the Obama campaign more than he knows. The Empresshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18308157125737986388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4267213304373394518.post-53962263334156987032008-10-20T12:58:00.000-07:002008-10-20T12:58:00.000-07:00So how do you think this impacts the Big Picture? ...So how do you think this impacts the Big Picture? Is this a reverse October Surprise?

I'm thinking this should play well to people concerned about Obama's national security and defense experience. I've liked Powell for a long time, with the exception of a period from about mid-October of 2001 until his resignation from the Bush "administration."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
